Sustainability - here we come!
We made it one step closer to our sustainability goal with the addition of our solar water pumping system. All the water used by our cattle is now pumped to the top of the farm using power obtained from the sun, and is then fed back out to waiting water troughs using only gravity. No petroleum needed! Besides not using fossil fuels, this system also allows us to cut back on point source pollution by keeping our livestock out of the creeks and ponds. The manure resulting from our animals is kept on the land were it is a welcome addition to the fertility of the farm.
